Wyuka Historical Foundation supports the preservation, interpretation, and public use of Nebraska's historic state cemetery.

Preservation:  Preservation and restoration efforts for the monuments and buildings at Wyuka are a principle focus of the Foundation. Preserving the beautiful landscape, the streets, and the other historic elements of Wyuka Cemetery will assure that future generations of Nebraskans and visitors from throughout the country can enjoy this unique property. Wyuka Cemetery is listed on the National Registrar of Historic Places and is a Nebraska State Arboretum Historic Landscape.

Interpretation: The educational programs of the Foundation include tours for people of all ages,  with emphasis on history, art history, or landscape design. Hundreds of people take free public tours each year.

Public Use: Wyuka is a state property, and the Historical Foundation encourages the community to enjoy the grounds as a place for walking and enjoying nature. Rudge Chapel and the Garden Room are used for weddings, concerts, and community meetings as well as memorial services. Please call for more information.

Wyuka needs your support!

You can help by becoming a Friend of Wyuka. The annual Friend membership supports the programs and upkeep of Wyuka, and entitles you to several benefits, including our newsletter and invitations to special events.

The Friends of Wyuka are a group of volunteers who take on projects around the cemetery. The gravesites have been catalogued through the Friends' efforts, and made available online. Friends volunteer as tour guides and staff school visits and other events. Please call me at 416-5056 for more information, or email lraphael@wyuka.com
